Privacy Policy

Padan Scan runs entirely on your Mac. Your documents are never uploaded, there are no servers, and there is no analytics or telemetry in the app. This policy explains the few places where any personal data is involved — chiefly when you buy a licence — and what we do with it.

This policy is published by Padan — PT Bahana Penjuru Darussalam ("Padan", "we", "us"), the data controller for the limited personal data described below. It covers the Padan Scan macOS app and the padan.co.id website.

1. The app: on-device by design

The Padan Scan app processes everything locally on your Mac:

• Your documents are never uploaded. OCR runs on Apple's on-device frameworks; the files you process stay on your machine.
• We operate no servers that receive your documents or their contents.
• No analytics and no telemetry are built into the app. It does not phone home, and it makes no network calls to us in the course of recognising documents.
• Your glossary, concordance, and output files are stored on your Mac, under your control.

Because of this, we do not receive, see, or hold the documents you process or the text extracted from them.

2. The website

The website at padan.co.id is a static site. Like virtually all websites, the hosting provider may record standard server access logs (such as IP address, request time, and user-agent) for security and operational purposes. The site does not set tracking cookies and does not run advertising trackers.

The site uses no advertising or cross-site tracking. If privacy-respecting analytics is ever added, this section will be updated to name the tool and what it measures.

3. Payment and the Merchant of Record

When you buy a licence, the purchase is handled by our reseller Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle") as Merchant of Record. Paddle collects and processes your billing and payment information (for example your name, email, billing address or country, and payment details) under Paddle's own privacy policy. We never see or store your full payment-card details. Please review Paddle's privacy policy at paddle.com/legal/privacy.

4. What Padan receives from a purchase

From a completed purchase, Paddle passes us a limited set of order details — typically your name and email address and an order reference. We use this only to:

• generate and email your licence key, and
• provide support, handle renewals, and process any refund you request.

Our lawful basis for this is the performance of our contract with you (delivering the licence you paid for) and our legitimate interest in supporting and securing the product.

5. Email delivery of licence keys

Licence keys and essential transactional messages (for example renewal or refund confirmations) are sent to the email address associated with your order. These are service messages, not marketing.

6. Data retention

We keep the limited purchase data described above for as long as needed to support your licence and to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Paddle retains transaction records under its own policy and its obligations as Merchant of Record.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data we hold about you, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. For data held by Paddle as part of your payment, you can also contact Paddle directly.

8. Children's privacy

Padan Scan is a professional tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when it last changed. Material changes will apply going forward.
